June 30, 2000: Due to rain, Martin did not get a chance to step on court today to complete her mixed doubles match. Tomorrow's schedule indicates a busy day for Martina, though rain is expected. First at 1:00 p.m., Martina will take part in the "Champions' Parade" on Centre Court to celebrate the Millennium Championships. Click here for the official AELTC press release. She also has 2 matches scheduled on Court 3 - the ladies doubles with Mariaan against the #13 seeds, Kimberly Po and Anne-Gaëlle Sidot; and then, the completion of the mixed doubles match with Mahesh against Jan Simerink and Miriam Oremans.

June 29, 2000: Martina and Mahesh were unable to complete their mixed doubles match today as it was suspended due to darkness. At the time, they trailed Jan Siemerink and Miriam Oremans 6-4 6-7(5-7) 9-8. Martina had served for the match at 8-7, but unfortunately, was broken at 30. The court location for the match's completion tomorrow has not yet been decided. June 28, 2000: The mixed doubles draw for Wimbledon is out. Martina and Mahesh are unseeded. They play their first round match tomorrow against Jan Siemerink and Miriam Oremans. The match has been scheduled fourth on Court 3. For the complete draw, courtesy of the tournament website, click here.

June 28, 2000: "Lucy.com" will be hosting a press conference tomorrow, June 29, at the IMG House at Wimbledon at 10:00 a.m., to discuss Martina's new tennis attire. "Lucy.com" has been designing Martina's tennis outfits since the French Open this year.

June 28, 2000: Martina and Mariaan won their first round doubles match today over Lubomira Bacheva and Amanda Hopmans 6-3 6-7(4-7) 6-3. In addition, she also talks about Martina's and Mariaan's chances at Wimbledon this year. June 27, 2000: Martina will make her Wimbledon debut tomorrow, June 28, on Court 1. Together with Mariaan, they will meet Lubomira Bacheva and Amanda Hopmans in the first round.

June 26, 2000: In addition to her role as tv analyst for TNT Sports, Martina will also be a guest commentator on the BBC during Wimbledon. She is scheduled to commentate on both Saturdays (July 1 and 8). The BBC website has added a nice collection of audio clips, included among which is a nearly 6-minute interview with Martina, conducted some time after the 1978 Wimbledon final. June 26, 2000: After playing her third WTA Tour event in Eastbourne last week, Martina has earned a spot in the latest WTA Tour rankings list, released today. She comes in at #176. June 23, 2000: Mahesh Bhupathi, who will be playing mixed doubles with Martina at Wimbledon, talked to the Indian newspaper "The Hindu" about how this partnership came about. He said he first heard from Mariaan in Paris at the French Open that Martina was looking for a mixed doubles partner at Wimbledon. "But when I saw her at the gym and spoke to her she said she wasn't sure if she'd be permitted to play two events. Later she came back and said that it was all right. I am really excited."

June 21, 2000: Martina and Mariaan lost their first round doubles match today to Sugiyama and Tauziat, 6-4 7-6(7-5), despite holding set points in the second set. June 20, 2000: The draw for the 'Ladies Doubles' at Wimbledon was released today. Martina and Mariaan are unseeded and have drawn Lubomira Bacheva and Amanda Hopmans in the first round. June 18, 2000: According to a 'Press Association' report, Martina is already in Eastbourne for the "Direct Line International Ladies Tennis Championships," which starts on Monday.

June 15, 2000: It's official - Martina will be playing mixed doubles at Wimbledon with Mahesh Bhupathi. It was confirmed by her spokeswoman today. In addition, Martina will also be playing womens doubles with Mariaan de Swardt.

June 11, 2000: Martina earns 92 points for her third round placement in the womens doubles at Roland Garros. With this, her points total come to 131. She will be ranked after her third tournament in Eastbourne next week. A minimum of 3 tournaments in the last 52 weeks are required to earn a WTA Tour ranking.

June 6, 2000: Martina and Mariaan finally got to play their third round doubles match today against Tauziat and Fusai on Court Suzanne Lenglen. However, the match was suspended in the second set due to bad lighting. The score stood at 6-2 1-3 to Martina and Mariaan. The match will be completed tomorrow. June 5, 2000: Martina's and Mariaan's third round doubles match against Fusai and Tauziat was postponed till tomorrow due to rain. Again, the match is scheduled fourth on Court Central tomorrow. June 4, 2000: Martina and Jan Siemerink lost their second round mixed doubles match today to the #12 seeds, Mariaan and David Adams 6-3 6-3. June 1, 2000: Martina and Mariaan take the court tomorrow for the opening round doubles match against Sabine Appelmans and Rita Grande at Roland Garros. That match is scheduled fourth on Court 2. Martina has also entered the mixed doubles competition, partnering Jan Siemerink of the Netherlands. This marks the first time they are playing together.
